For all classical music enthusiasts, Apple has good news. The Cupertino-based tech giant has announced that it will launch its genre-exclusive music app – Apple Music Classical on March 28.

The app acquired from music service Primephonic was previously expected to launch towards the end of 2022. However, users will now be able to enjoy it sooner. The app has appeared on the App Store and users can now pre-order it ahead of its launch.

The new app will be available as a standalone version in the App Store and will be accessible with the standard Apple Music subscription. In its official version, the company said that Apple Music Classical makes it easy to find any recording from the largest classical music catalog in the world. The catalog is fully optimized for search, and listeners will be able to experience the highest quality audio, including spatial audio on their classic favorites.

When it comes to Apple’s Spatial Audio, the classic genre is considered the best way to get a heightened audio experience. In the new app, users will be able to try out thousands of exclusive albums, curated playlists, insightful biographies, access to notable works, and more.

“Apple Music Classical also makes it easy for beginners to get started with the genre with hundreds of Essentials playlists, insightful composer biographies, in-depth guides to many key works, and intuitive navigation features,” reads the description. of the app on App Store.

The app will stream music up to 192kHz/24bit lossless high resolution as well as thousands of spatial audio recordings. Apple says the app will also offer accurate classic metadata, which has been a challenge for many music streaming platforms.

Apple acquired Primephonic in August 2021. The Primephonic app was a classical music streaming service that offered a great audio experience with a plethora of artists and tracks.
